I earned a B.S. degree in Music Education from the University of Minnesota in 1980, and a certificate in Gifted/Creative/Talented Education from the University of St. Thomas in 2011. I started teaching at Hill-Murray School in 1981 and was the Coordinator of the Hill-Murray Parish Schools Band Program from 1984 to 2016. I was the Band Director at Maternity of Mary School for 31 years, from the fall of 1986, before the merger, through my retirement from Hill-Murray and MMSA School in the spring of 2017. I toured China with the University of Minnesota Wind Ensemble in the summer of 1980. I have played tuba with the 451st Army Band at Fort Snelling, the Tubadours at Valley Fair, the Minnesota Orchestra, and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. I currently perform with the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra and my own quintet, Minnesota Brassworks. I am happy to be rejoining the MMSA Band program as the Band Director.
