The Kinder Konzerts experience is comprised of two parts: 1) A concert on the stage of Orchestra Hall featuring an ensemble of eight musicians and their instruments, a narrator, various musical works and a composition inspired by the book The Tin Forest. 2) The interactive sound factory where the students are guided through a hands-on music lesson. In the Sound Factory the students will play a violin, cello, and a snare drum. For more Field Trip information please click here. TUESDAY-FRIDAY: For the next two weeks, we will be preparing for Easter. Celebrating the beauty of NEW LIFE and Thanking God for all his amazing promises makes for a wonderful time in Preschool. Our chicken EGGS arrive this week. We will be incubating chicken eggs in Mrs. Lehman’s classroom. We will get to enjoy this miracle of “New Life” with their class. The eggs will arrive on March 28th and will incubate for 21 days. This will be a wonderful tie in to the new life that Easter brings for us all! HUMPTY DUMPTY nursery rhyme activities will be a fun addition to our egg theme for the week! MMSA SPRING FLING: We are incredibly thankful for all your support, donations and raffle ticket sales. DATES TO REMEMBER: March 27: KINDER KONZERT Field Trip to Orchestra Hall March 30: MMSA PreK & K Open House for Prospective families April 10th-17: Easter break NO SCHOOL EXTRA CLASSROOM INFORMATION BUCKET FILLER! Based on the books Have You Filled a Bucket Today by Carol McCloud and David Messing, How Full is Your Bucket by Tom Rath, Mary Reckmeyer, and Maurie J Manning, and Fill a Bucket by Carol McCloud, Katherine Martin, and David Messing we will learn to be "BUCKET FILLERS". Through these stories and some fun, meaningful activities students will learn about the concept of “bucket-filling” and will have the opportunity to practice it in the classroom. Overall, it will help to build unity among classmates and peers. Students will value themselves as individuals in addition to valuing friendship. They will most importantly learn to demonstrate how kindness, compassion, and respect are so important in our classroom, school, and world. Students will understand that the positive things they do for others show respect and will no doubt come back to them. Students will also understand that when they are unkind to others they hurt themselves as well. Its purpose is twofold: to get students thinking about their own thoughts and feelings and those of others; to give students some awareness into how their choices (words & actions) can make a difference! PRESCHOOL OFFICE Our Preschool Play Office has been set up and is ready for lots of writing, drawing, cutting, taping and LEARNING. Any donations of stickers, tape, note pads etc are always greatly appreciated! To enhance learning at the Preschool Play Office, each child has started to work in their own school notebook. They always enjoy writing letters, drawing and retelling stories in these notebooks. MYSTERY LETTER BAG Be watching for the letter bag to come home with your student. They are to find one item that begins with the letter attached to the bag. Write 3 clues for us to guess what it is. PLEASE RETURN IT THE NEXT SCHOOL DAY.
